Here
is a house that I helped paint "overseas". It was primed and painted by
a hardworking crew of men from my church, as well as myself, and my son
Austin. We did this while on a mission trip to Barahona, Dominican
Republic. As you can see, the home is very modest, to say the least. As
I walked in their home you could literally see sunlight through the
siding joints in the wall. As we finished the job the homeowners were so
grateful for their home's new "extremely pink makeover". The people of
the Dominican Republic are very appreciative and grateful for what they
have and the help they received on this and other projects that our
church provided while we were there. Their attitude of gratefulness is
so refreshing compared to some of our attitudes as Americans. We should
be so thankful for the many blessings that surround us. Going to a
foreign country on a mission trip will definitely open your eyes to how
fortunate we all are, and I would encourage everyone to serve on one at
some point in your life. This was my third trip to the DR and I'll be
back next year too, if it is God's will. David
